The Brink of Becoming is a movement-based experimental film that centers on a female’s personal narrative of her experience of bearing a child. It highlights that this temporary experience of being pregnant embodies a negotiation between immanence and transcendence. Though discomfort is unavoidably part of pregnancy, this unique feminine experience may limit but does not disable a female body and her capacity to perform daily activities. Instead, changes that take place inside and on the female body grant pregnant women a new sense of agency and power.
